How to Customize Your MT5 Workspace (Charts, Colors, Layouts)

MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is designed to be fully customizable, allowing traders to create a workspace that matches their trading style. From changing chart colors to adjusting layouts, here’s how to personalize MT5 for an efficient and visually appealing experience.

Step 1: Open MT5 and Load a Chart

Launch MetaTrader 5 on your desktop or mobile app and open any chart.

Step 2: Change Chart Colors

• Right-click anywhere on the chart.

• Select Properties (or press F8 on desktop).

• Under the Colors tab, customize:

  • Background color

  • Grid color

  • Candle colors (bullish/bearish)
    Click OK to apply changes.

Step 3: Adjust Chart Type

MT5 offers three chart types:

• Bar Chart

• Candlestick Chart

• Line Chart
  Switch between them by clicking the icons on the toolbar or using Charts → Chart Type.

Step 4: Add or Remove Grid Lines

• Choose options like Tile Windows or Cascade to organize multiple charts.

Step 6: Save Your Workspace as a Template

Once your chart is set up:

• Right-click the chart.

• Select Template → Save Template.

• Give it a name (e.g., “MySetup”) and click Save.
